Welcome Message

Let us express our gratitude to God Almighty, for by His grace and blessings we are able to gather on this auspicious occasion. Allow me, as the Head of the Center for Eco-Material Engineering and Manufacturing (PRME) at Yogyakarta State University, to deliver a welcoming speech and a brief introduction to the existence and direction of PRME's development.

The Center for Eco-Material Engineering and Manufacturing at Yogyakarta State University (UNY) was established as a center of excellence focused on the development of environmentally friendly and sustainable materials-based manufacturing engineering. PRME was born out of a strategic need to address global challenges related to resource efficiency, environmental impact reduction, and strengthening green technology innovation in engineering and manufacturing. Since its inception, PRME has been directed as a platform for integrating education, research, and community service activities, with an orientation toward the development of eco-materials, sustainable manufacturing technology, and the application of circular economy principles. Through PRME, UNY encourages multidisciplinary collaboration between faculty, students, industry, and external partners to produce innovative and competitive applied research, prototypes, and manufacturing solutions.

PRME, Faculty of Engineering, University of Yogyakarta (YSU), has a strategic research focus on transportation and sports based on eco-materials and sustainable manufacturing engineering. In transportation, research is directed at the development of lightweight, strong, and environmentally friendly components and structures, including vehicle frames, micromobility systems, and natural fiber-based composite materials. Meanwhile, in sports, PRME develops innovative sports equipment and facilities that prioritize safety, performance, ergonomics, and environmental sustainability. Furthermore, PRME focuses on the development of learning and materials as a foundation for strengthening human resources and technological innovation. The development of adaptive and sustainability-oriented engineering learning models, as well as research into environmentally friendly materials based on local resources, are key components of PRME's activities.

With the synergy of research in transportation, sports, learning, and materials, PRME, Faculty of Engineering, University of Yogyakarta (YSU) is expected to be a driving force for the development of environmentally friendly manufacturing technologies and actively contribute to supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the national and global levels.
